Agriculture can act as the mainstay to the economy if certain reconfigurations are made. These would be conceptual as well as managerial

Potential :
* Capacity to allow India to break into foreign and global market.
* Exploring patent possibilities with the Indigenous varieties.
* Employment generating potential.
* Food Security: per person, per household, national, world.
* Consumer Health

Recommendations :
* Support prices should be supportive
* Engineering infrastructure- irrigation, storage, distribution, transport
* Exemplary Farms
* Agriculture as a subject in village schools
* Practice sustainable agriculture
* Encourage farm cooperatives
* Tap the patent market
* Water to be on Union list rather than state list
* Water harvesting
* Connecting all water bodies
* Separation of Arid and Arable land
* Differentiate between keen and non-keen farmers as policy recipients
* Focus on food processing (proposed by Ministry)
* Mega food parks (proposed by FP ministry)
* Healthy PDS
* Research should serve commonweal rather than just market forces.
* Agricultural Renaissance required
* Political Will
